GMC is ready to release an improved model for the new 2023 GMC Canyon. A completely redesigned midsize pickup vehicle, the GMC Canyon, will debut in 2023. Uncertainty exists around whether the AT4X off-road performance trim will be included for the 2023 or 2024 model years.
The 2023 Canyon is anticipated to have a more significant, more angular exterior, which would be a change from the bulky appearance of the present model. The bumper clearance on prototypes from spy images has increased, indicating an off-roading purpose.
The headlights on the forthcoming Canyon will be much thinner than those on the present model and will be mounted higher on the front fascia. The fog lights are anticipated to enlarge and be positioned closer to the headlights. In addition, GMC has thoroughly concealed the prototype vehicles it has been testing.
We anticipate that the general appearance will diverge from resembling the Chevy Colorado and start to include more features from the freshly remodeled GMC Sierra 1500.
Interior Redesign and Features Updates
The Upcoming 2023 GMC Canyon’s Interior is anticipated to be substantially different from the already available pickup truck. Instead of a chunky instrument panel with an infotainment system that sticks out, the car will probably have a much more modern infotainment system that sits on top of the dash and a thin row of buttons for the HVAC system right below the screen. We anticipate that the 2023 GMC Canyon will have more advanced features than the current one.
The new 2023 Canyon is anticipated to debut with far more cutting-edge technology than the present generation. A seven-inch touchscreen display, two USB ports, Bluetooth, Six Speaker Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Satellite Radio, are presently included as standard equipment on the Canyon. There are seven audio speakers, an eight-inch touchscreen, two more USB ports, a wireless charging pad, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Engine Specs and Option
GMC has not confirmed the next Canyon’s powertrain options. We anticipate that the truck will be available with several engine options for the customer; however, GMC could decide to add a turbocharged engine if diesel sales continue to decline.
The current truck has three engines: a 3.6-liter V6, a 2.8-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder, and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder. The diesel engine can deliver output from 181 to 308 horsepower.
The V6 engine is only compatible with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while a six-speed automatic is standard. The Canyon comes standard with rear-wheel drive but is also available with four-wheel drive.
The current Canyon can pull up to 1,580 pounds and has a maximum towing capability of 7,700 pounds, which is matched for best in class.
Release Date and Price for New 2023 GMC Canyon
The 2023 Canyon is expected to be unveiled by GMC in the summer of 2022. The data on fleet production indicates that production will begin in January of 2023.
The forthcoming Canyon is anticipated to have a higher base price than the currently available pickup due to a significant redesign. The Canyon has a starting price of $27,995 (including destination) and a maximum price of $50,145.
The Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Frontier, Honda Ridgeline, and Ford Ranger will all be the main competitors for the 2023 GMC Canyon.
